DVD on the spectacular reenactment of the „Sauer river Crossing“

The museum has just released its first own DVD – The re-enactment of the January 18, 1945 Sauer river Crossing and Diekirch.

This was a spectacular event within the 60th anniversary celebrations hosted by the museum with the participation of British, Dutch and Luxembourg reenactors and vehicle collectors that took place on the historic crossing site at Diekirch on January 22, 2005.

The DVD is made in black and white to add to the historical accuracy. Additional bonuses feature pictures of the “Thanksgiving Day 1944/2004” celebration in Diekirch, “Night Vigil” on December 16, 2004 in Hoesdorf, as well as a portrait/tour in color of the museum’s exhibits. Total length: 80 minutes/multiregion.

DVD retails for 25 Euros and can be purchased at the museum’s reception desk.

The museum has a small shop where the following items can be obtained:

Books, postcards, posters, videos, and brochures:

With the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge come these two new volumes that offer new insights into the events of one of the fiercest battles of World War II. The main emphasis covered is the southern sector of the front that went through the small country of Luxembourg.

Volume I covers the events from the German point-of-view, while Volume II treats the offensive from the American point-of-view, and also offers the events from local civilians.

The operations of the various German and American units are broken down into many small group actions, with many new details coming to light. Much of the material comes from first-person accounts from participants, as well as the author's own research.
